Ventilators are widely used in factories, mines, tunnels, cooling towers, vehicles, ships, and buildings for ventilation, dust removal, and cooling; in boilers and industrial furnaces for ventilation and induced draft; in air conditioning equipment and household appliances for cooling and ventilation; in grain drying and conveying; as a wind source for wind tunnels and for inflating and propelling hovercraft. The working principle of a ventilation fan is basically the same as that of a turbo compressor, except that due to the lower gas velocity and smaller pressure changes, changes in gas specific volume are generally not considered, meaning the gas is treated as an incompressible fluid.

Installation Requirements
a. The fan foundation must be level, sturdy, and at least 200mm high.

b. The fan and duct should be connected using a flexible, non-combustible hose. The hose length should not be less than 200mm, and the pipe diameter should be the same as the fan inlet and outlet dimensions. To ensure the hose does not twist or deform during system operation, it should be installed with moderate tightness. For canvas hoses installed at the fan intake, a slightly tighter installation is acceptable to prevent the hose from being sucked in during fan operation and to reduce the cross-sectional size of the canvas hose.

c. The steel support frame of the fan must be fixed to a concrete foundation, and rubber vibration damping pads must be added between the steel support frame and the foundation. All fan and motor assemblies should be mounted on a single piece of steel support, with the steel frame mounted on vibration damping pads at the top of the foundation. Perforated rubber sheets are preferred for these vibration damping pads.

d. The diameter of the fan outlet pipe can only be increased, not decreased. An insect screen must be installed at the final outlet. For upward-biased outlets, a rain cap must be added.
