FAQ

Q: What is the difference between FRP and PP/PVDF for acid exhaust applications?

A: FRP offers higher mechanical strength, higher pressure capability (up to 8,500 Pa), and larger size availability (impeller diameters up to 2,200 mm). PP and PVDF offer superior resistance to halogen compounds (such as hydrofluoric acid or wet fluoride gas) where glass fiber in FRP can be chemically attacked over time.

Q: How do you prevent acid leaks along the fan shaft seal?

A: We supply double-labyrinth seals with nitrogen/air purge ports or PTFE-faced mechanical seals. The purge gas creates a positive pressure barrier inside the seal chamber, keeping corrosive process gas contained inside the casing.

Q: Can FRP fans withstand high negative pressures without casing deformation?

A: Yes. FRP fan casings are manufactured with external heavy-gage steel stiffener rings fully encapsulated in glass fiber and resin. Casing wall thickness and rib spacing are calculated based on maximum system suction pressure.

Q: Are your corrosion-resistant fans suitable for ATEX explosive environments?

A: Yes. For hazardous chemical zones containing flammable solvents or gases, we supply ATEX-certified fans. Construction includes carbon-loaded anti-static FRP/PP resin (surface resistance Less than 10^9 Ohms), non-sparking brass inlet rings, and explosion-proof motors (Ex d IIBT4 / IICT4).

Q: How are FRP impellers repaired if worn by abrasive acid slurry droplets?

A: Small surface wear on FRP blades can be repaired on-site using compatible resin lay-up kits. For heavy wear, we manufacture drop-in replacement impellers with encapsulated steel hubs designed to mount directly onto existing shafts and bearing pedestals.
