The Vertical Mixed Flow Fan is a specialized unit designed for vertical or shaft ducting, skillfully combining the high-pressure capability of centrifugal fans with the high-volume airflow of axial fans. Air enters axially and is discharged at an angle between 0 and 90 degrees, generating an efficient upward thrust. This design is ideal for pressurized or exhaust systems with strict depth limitations, such as building stairwells, subway ventilation shafts, and factory ventilation risers, offering a compact and powerful alternative to complex traditional installations.

 

Streamlined Design for Direct Installation

 

 

This fan typically features a tubular structure, with the motor housed in a sealed, concentric compartment and driven via a long shaft. The uniquely shaped mixed-flow impeller provides both axial thrust and centrifugal boost, while integrated guide vanes within the casing streamline airflow to minimize losses. This ingenious configuration allows the Vertical Mixed Flow Fan to be installed directly into vertical ducts without the need for space-consuming elbows or transition sections, significantly simplifying system layout and reducing pressure loss for cost-effective ventilation.

 

Optimized for Pressurization & Small to Medium Facilities

 

 

Engineered for applications such as stairwell pressurization in low- to mid-rise buildings and ventilation in small- to medium-sized factories, this fan ensures reliable airflow when it matters most. For example, during a fire event, it rapidly activates to supply fresh air, maintaining positive pressure in escape routes to prevent smoke intrusion. A standard model delivers 8,000 m³/h at 450 Pa total pressure with a 2.2 kW motor, producing only 78 dB(A) at 1 m. It can be installed in dedicated shafts up to 120 meters high, effectively overcoming stack effect and system resistance to deliver air efficiently to every floor.
